The Antenna Coverage tool allows you to visualize and calculate radio signal ranges over realistic terrain features. By selecting key parameters such as antenna height, frequency in MHz, and transmission power, the tool generates a coverage map based on physical approximations. You can place multiple antennas by clicking directly on the map interface. This simplifies planning for various applications including amateur radio, mobile LTE networks, and FM broadcasting across different urban or suburban environments.
Data Processing and Privacy
We prioritize transparency regarding how your data is handled. Terrain and building data are fetched through our server from a geodata service; the actual radio propagation calculation runs in the browser. This hybrid approach ensures that while necessary geographic information is retrieved to create an accurate map, the intensive calculations for signal paths occur locally on your device rather than being processed on our servers.

Where is terrain data available?
The tool utilizes detailed terrain data primarily provided for regions in Bavaria. While you can place antennas on the map, specific geographic details are currently only available for areas within Bavaria. Other locations may not have sufficient terrain data to provide an accurate coverage calculation.
What radio systems can I simulate?
The tool supports a variety of scenarios including amateur radio at 433 MHz, mobile LTE networks at 800 MHz, and FM radio broadcasting around 100 MHz. You can customize the frequency and power settings to model how signals behave in various environments.
Is the calculation an official measurement?
The results provided by this tool are experimental and unofficial physical approximations. They are intended as a planning aid rather than a professional certification or legal proof. The calculations use standard propagation models to estimate how signals behave over terrain.
